SDEWES-Skopje hosted the Forum on Best Practice Examples on Energy Communities in Skopje, at the Holiday Inn Hotel, on December 12, 2023. The event, organized as part of the European Climate Initiative (EUKI) funded SunSharing Project, provided a great opportunity for sharing experiences about energy communities, not just among partner countries but also across the European Union. Towards this goal, an exchange of knowledge and experiences was facilitated by an esteemed presenter panel, spanning across the European Union and the partner countries of SunSharing. During the forum, the Mayor of the Municipality of Centar shared their local experience with solar energy investments. Over 30 visitors benefited from hearing about practical aspects related to setting up energy communities, the roles of municipalities and regulators, the impact of these communities on the electricity grid, and ways to scale up collective initiatives using smart platforms.
